Which transactions I make using the Easy Payment Plan?
You can choose to have any retail purchases made using your NBF credit card converted into instalments on our Easy Payment Plan.
How does the 0% for three months Easy Payment Plan work and how can I use it?
Our 0% Easy Payment Plan is a new payment feature of your NBF Credit Card and can be used at selected merchant outlets. You are now able to pay for your purchases in instalments over three months at no interest. Simply call 8008NBF(623) after making your purchase to take advantage of the Easy Payment Plan.
Do I have a choice regarding the instalment amounts?
Yes. Your purchase transaction will be converted into pre-defined monthly instalments based on your request when you call 8008NBF(623).
Can I choose to repay the pending instalments at once in advance?
Yes, you can choose to repay the amount remaining on your NBF Easy Payment Plan in advance. You will however need to pay the
prevailing foreclosure fee.
How will I know that my purchase transaction has been convert
You can either call our 24-hour Call Centre at 8008NBF(623) or you can check your monthly bank statement.
Can I make multiple Easy Payment Plan transactions on my NBF credit card?
Yes, you can make multiple Easy Payment Plan transactions, provided that the transactions fall within the available credit limit of your credit card.
Can I opt for the 0% Easy Payment Plan throughout the year at any retail merchants?
Yes, Easy Payment Plan offers are available throughout the year on all NBF Credit Cards.
What is NBF’s Easy Payment Plan?
NBF’s Easy Payment Plan is a system allowing you to pay off an item you have purchased in fixed amounts at specified intervals. In other words, it allows you to “buy now and pay later”.
When you use your NBF credit card, you have the option of having the transaction converted into fixed instalments which you will repay for a certain number of months.

What is instant Easy payment plan
After every eligible transaction ( 500 and above), you will receive a link on your registered mobile number for converting the transaction to easy payment plan of your choice.
You can view the payment plans and convert the submit your request instantaneously.
Please note: you will receive the link to convert to EPP only for eligible transactions undertaken at physical merchant terminals or online payment gateways. Transactions through NBF Direct banking or NBF mobile banking are not eligible for easy payment plan.
What is the benefit of transferring my balance?
By taking advantage of a balance transfer facility, you can enjoy a better rate of interest and also decide on the repayment period that suits you
What percentage of my credit card limit can I transfer?
You can ask for up to 90% of your credit card limit to be transferred from your NBF credit card.
Can I foreclose the balance transfer repayments and if so, will there I be charged?
Yes, your repayment instalments can be foreclosed. A foreclosure fee of 50 per Easy Payment Plan will apply. A daily maximum of 200 will be charged if more than four plans are closed on a particular day.
How do I use the balance transfer facility?
Call us on 8008NBF(623) and ask for a request form or download it from our website
Enter your details on the request form, attach the required documents and submit it to any of our branches.
How will my balance transfer be processed?
NBF will process your request internally and, once approved, your balance transfer amount will be debited from your NBF credit card and the beneficiary credit card of your other bank will be paid off directly by NBF.
What is a balance transfer?
A balance transfer is a banking term used to describe the act of moving money from one bank account to another. This is commonly done when changing or removing accounts.
In terms of credit cards, it refers to the outstanding amount on one bank credit card which is transferred to another credit card.

What percentage of my credit card limit can be requested as an EZ Draft / Cash on Call?
You can ask for up to 70% of your credit card limit to be transferred to your NBF account or by way of Demand Draft in the beneficiary’s name.
How do I use the EZ draft / Cash on Call facility?
You can call NBF Call Centre on 8008NBF(623) and request for EZ draft / Cash on Call on your NBF credit card or alternatively, download the EZ draft / Cash on Call form found on our Download Centre & submit the duly filled-out form at any NBF branch nearest to you.
Can I foreclose the balance transfer repayments and if so, will there I be charged?

What is EZ Draft / Cash on Call?
With NBF’s EZ Draft / Cash on Call, the available limit on your credit card can be transferred to you by way of a cheque, draft or account transfer. You could also use it to make a payment to a retail merchant who doesn’t accept payments by credit card (or charges additional fees for payments made by credit card).

What is 3D Secure?
3D Secure is a free service facilitated by Visa that lets you transact online securely using your NBF credit or debit card. This service is only available on 3D Secure merchant sites displaying the Verified by VISA (VBV) icon. VBV uses password protection during an internet purchase to authenticate the customer as an added fraud prevention measure.
What are the benefits of 3D Secure?
VBV provides an extra layer of security by verifying you when you use your NBF credit or debit card to make payments online. You can rest assured that any online merchant that uses the VBV service is a legitimate commercial entity. A private code means added protection against unauthorised use of your credit or debit card when you make payments online.
VBV protects you by ensuring that you and only you can use your credit or debit card for electronic payments.
What is a One-Time Password (OTP)?
An OTP is a six-digit code that is valid for only 180 seconds during one login session or transaction, on a computer system or other digital devices. The OTP is automatically generated via SMS to your NBF-registered mobile and email address for authentication.
How do I register for 3D Secure?
No registration is required. The added protection of VBV is automatically enabled on your NBF Visa credit and debit card. Please ensure that you have updated your latest mobile number and email address with NBF, as the OTP will be sent to your mobile number and email address currently stored in the bank’s records.
How can I update my mobile number/email address?
To update your information, please visit your nearest NBF Branch.
Will I be charged for 3D Secure?
No. This service is provided free of charge.
Do I have to register for all my cards separately?
No registration is required. The feature is automatically enabled on all NBF credit cards.
Is my personal information safe and secure?
Yes. Your card details are safe as they are encrypted and stored on a secure server.
I have just received a replacement card, do I have to re-register?
No, you do not have to register any of your cards for this feature.
What happens if I enter the OTP incorrectly?
The transaction will fail after three incorrect password attempts; thereafter you will need to re-initiate the transaction.
How long is the OTP valid for once I receive it?
The password will expire in 180 seconds from when you land on the 3D Secure OTP page.
Why was I was not asked for a password when I made an online card transaction?
If the merchant is not 3D Secure-compliant, you will not be asked for your password. Only 3D Secure merchant sites will ask for a password for authentication purposes. Look for the Verified by VISA logo to see if the site uses 3D Secure.
What is the maximum amount I can spend online with my NBF credit card?
You can use 50% of your total credit limit for online spends in one statement cycle.
How would I know if a merchant is 3D Secure compliant?
If a merchant is 3D Secure compliant, you will be able to see the Verified by Visa logo on the site.
If I do not have my mobile number and/or email address registered with NBF, can I still make an online purchase?
You will be able to make online purchases, without an OTP, from merchant websites that do not support 3D Secure. For 3D Secure-enabled websites, you will not be able to complete a transaction without an OTP.
If your mobile number and/or email address has changed or you have not registered them with NBF, please update your contact details by visiting your nearest NBF branch.
Can I opt out of the OTP service for online purchases?
OTP is required for all online purchases made through all 3D Secure-enabled merchants. You may still make online purchases without OTP from online merchants that do not support 3D Secure.
Can NBF resend the OTP to me due to non-receipt?
No, the OTP may be delayed due to circumstances beyond the Bank’s control as it is dependent on your mobile service provider. Please also ensure that your mobile number is updated in our records in order to receive your OTP from us. The OTP is also sent to your registered email address and can be used to complete the transaction.
How does 3D Secure protect me?
3D Secure provides an added layer of security by prompting you for an OTP when you make an online purchase. This helps to protect you against online fraud by verifying that the customer making the online purchase is the rightful owner of the credit or debit card.
What must I do if Verified by VISA window does not appear during an online payment?
You can do the following:
- Check whether the online merchant is Verified by VISA-compliant by looking for the VBV icon.
- Check whether your system blocks pop-ups. If necessary, switch off the software that blocks pop-ups.
Who do I need to contact if I think my transaction went through multiple times?
Please call 8008NBF(623).
Can I use Verified by VISA on any computer/mobile phone?
Yes, you can use it on any device. You do not need to install any special software.
Do all online transactions require me to key in an OTP?
No, the OTP is only required for online merchants that support the 3D Secure authentication protocol.
To whom will the OTP be sent if my supplementary cardholder is performing an online transaction?
The OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number and email address of the primary cardholder that is registered with NBF.
Can I use one an OTP for more than one transaction?
No. Every six-digit OTP is only valid for that particular transaction and cannot be used for any other transaction.
What happens if I do not receive the OTP?
The OTP will be instantly sent to the mobile number and email address in our records after you have started the transaction and entered your card details.
If you do not receive the OTP on your mobile number or email address, please check if the mobile number and email address registered with NBF is correct.
If the registered details are correct, you can request that the OTP be re-sent to you by clicking on the “resend OTP” link appearing on the web page.
How many times can I request an OTP to be resent to me?
You can only request that an OTP be re-sent to you three times per transaction. You may need to reinitiate the transaction should you not receive your password after requesting three re-sends.
Can I receive an OTP when I am overseas?
The OTP will be sent to your NBF-registered mobile number and email address. If you are overseas or using international mobile service providers, the service provider may not support international SMS. Please consult your service provider and/or hardware supplier for details. If you have access to your email while travelling abroad then you can use the OTP as sent to your registered email address to complete the online transaction.
